Meet Pro Skier Andy Mapple

Andy Mapple - Andy began skiing at age 13 and won the World Championships in slalom at age 17. He came to the US in 1982 and began competing on Pro Tour. Andy won 12 Pro Tour titles, 14 Masters, 14 US Opens, 15 Moomba Masters and 11 world records during his career. He retired in 2004 and is now working in design, development and marketing for the companies he represents.

Why do you ride for Nautique?
I like the product and the way they make me feel like part of the family.

What is your favorite Nautique boat to ride behind and why?
The Ski Nautique 206 is my favorite because not only can I practice, but I can take my family and friends out also. I enjoy all aspects of the sport.

What is your favorite trick?
Ski Line 5 Back (SL5B) Old school tricking

What is your favorite skiing spot?
Okeeheelee Park, West Palm Beach

What is your favorite tune?
Shine

What is your favorite movie?
Any James Bond movie.

How would you describe the perfect day?
I would ski in the morning, work for a few hours, then go watch my kids play sports.

Who are you most inspired by?
My wife, Deena.

Do you have any advice for the kids?
Waterskiing/wakeboarding is a privilege. I did not understand this growing up. If you can understand that now, the rewards will be immense.
